Terms of service

By creating a HeadgateLog account you agree to these terms. If you sign up for a ditch company, canal company or district, you agree on its behalf.

The service

HeadgateLog is a tool for recording water orders, headgate changes and the acre-feet worked out from them. It is only as good as what was entered: acre-feet used is calculated from the flows and times your riders log, and it is not a measurement of the water actually delivered. It does not decide water rights, priorities or assessments, and it is not legal or engineering advice. Check any figure that matters, such as one used in a dispute or a state report, against your own measurements and records.

Your account

• Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• The company owner controls who joins the company's account and can disable users at any time.
• Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break in, overload it, or access other companies' data.

Plans and billing

• New companies get a 30-day free trial without a card. After the trial, records stay readable, but adding or changing records needs a paid plan. Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled.
• You can cancel any time from the Billing page; you keep paid features until the end of the period you paid for. We don't give partial refunds.
• If a plan lapses, your data stays, but adding and changing records, and logins for other people, stop working until you choose a plan again.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email.

Your data

Your company's records belong to you. You can export them at any time, and we'll send a copy on request. See the privacy policy for what we store.

Availability

We work to keep HeadgateLog running but can't promise it will never be down. The service is provided "as is", and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms and will email account owners about material changes. You can stop using HeadgateLog at any time; we may suspend accounts that break these terms.
